Hope our family and friends had a wonderful Thanksgiving. It was truly a blessing to have family and friends surrounded around the dinner table this year. Sharing it with Sandy (my dad's fiance') and her loving family made this Thanksgiving without my mom less painful. There was an abundance of yummy food, great conversations and enjoying watching all the kids play together. It was truly a good day!
Our little family is thankful for so many things amid the difficulties we have had this year. Family, friends, love, each other, food in our bellies, a roof over our heads, clothes on our backs, an education, Chuck's job, etc. The list could go on about our many blessings. So what are you thankful for? We are thankful for YOU!
The last month and a half has flown by with birthdays, football, Halloween, Thanksgiving, school projects and the newest addition to our family...
Dylan's team did not win any games this season. We taught Dylan that is not about winning but most importantly about learning the sport and enjoying the comradery of his team mates. We are so proud of all that he has learn and all the wonderful friendships he has made this season. He plans to play again next year.

Wait a minute my hubby has it all wrong...I'm turning 24, not 34!
This year Payton wanted to be a "Nice Witch". She requested NO mole on her face since that would make her look mean and we wanted a nice witch so we granted her wish! Dylan decided to dress up in his football attire in hopes of receiving a few pieces of candy. Ha! The day before Halloween we took the kiddos to the Symphonic Spooktacular. They really enjoyed the music played by the Jacksonville Symphony and the magic show. Halloween night we all joined the rest of the family at Aunt Renee's for dinner and a hayride around the neighborhood while trick or treating.
Can you see the excitement on Dylan's face? He just LOVES the camera!

Grandma's 80th Birthday
Grandma playing tic-tac-toe with Payton
November 5th was my Grandma's (mom's mom) 80th birthday and our niece Savannah Grace's 1st birthday. Needless to say we had a full day of festivities! We treated Grandma to her favorite restaurant, the kids made homemade birthday cards and Chuck made her a fabulous chocolate cake with homemade chocolate frosting.Yum!

WARNING: This is a "I need a nap RIGHT NOW face!"
Payton and I made Savannah a rocking chair for her birthday so she would have one just like mommy and daddy's. Now she can rock and read her new book.
Report card time!!

Well folks Christmas is right around the corner. Do you have travel plans for Christmas? We are staying here for Christmas this year, but plan to travel to Pennsylvania the day after Christmas for a family vacation filled with snow tubing, ice skating, touring Amish country on a buggy ride and good times with the Register family. One last thing before I go, I'd like to introduce you to the newest member of the Barrett family (No I am NOT pregnant and no we did not get another four-legged friend...ha!).
His name is Sammy...
Sammy the Elf that is!
Meet Sammy The Elf on the Shelf. You ask what is "The Elf on the Shelf'? Well, let me fill you in on this cool little guy. He comes with a beautiful book that you read to the kiddos. In the book it reads that he was sent from Santa to watch if they have been "naughty or nice". Each morning Sammy will move somewhere new throughout the house keeping himself busy while watching the kids. Yesterday morning he was in the kids bathroom playing tic-tac-toe keeping a watchful eye on the kids for Santa. After Christmas he goes back to the North Pole to be with Santa but will return every year right after Thanksgiving. The kids are NOT allowed to touch him for his magic will go away and then he can't report to Santa on if they have been naughty or nice.
The kids have really enjoyed searching for him each morning to see what he was up to through the night. Here is where they found him this morning...
Looks like Sammy was having a late night snack!
(Note: The last three pictures were taken with our new DSLR camera so bear with me as I learn how to work it. If you have any tips or shortcuts please feel free to pass them along. Thanks!)
Stay tuned for more of Sammy's adventures around the Barrett household...
