In Memory of my mom | Happy Mother's Day

Mother's Day is so hard because it has been almost 15 months and now two Mother's Days since I lost my beautiful mom. There are days it warms my heart to think of the good memories but my heart aches when the bad ones consume me but I hold my Faith close knowing that I am blessed with a beautiful Guardian Angel...

What is a Mother?

When needed, she was always there,
Someone I realized would always care.
And the older I got the more I knew,
A mother's love sincere and true.

A grandma who cherishes her grandbabies...

Always there to give a helping hand or being your biggest fan...

Make you SMILE...

To celebrate with...

So, on this Mother's Day cherish all Moms, for they gave us life. This beautiful life. Happy Mother's Day! Kisses.

Mother's love is peace. It need not be acquired, it need not be deserved. -Erich Fromm

  1. My heart goes out to you! I know how tough holidays can be after losing your mother and personally I think that Mother's day is one of the toughest. I guess this is because it forces us to remember the void we feel in our lives. My hope for you is that the joy of spending the day with your two beautiful children will help overshadow some of the sadness you are feeling. Just remember that both of our mothers are now watching over us in a place free of pain and illness. Who knows maybe they have become friends as we have :-)

  6. Allison, this was such a lovely tribute to your Mom. I can only imagine how hard it is not to have your Mother next to you on this day, but I'm sure there are moments when you see her in your own children.

  7. What a sweet post about your Mama. And you do favor her so much! I was able to spend much of the day with my Mama today and we had some conversation about how it is to spend Mother's Day once your own Mother has left our presence. My Grandmother has been gone for quite some time and I remember her with so much fondness and love. My Mom was telling me today that she misses her Mom every day...and that on Mother's Day, while she still misses her own Mother, she just believes that she is still here for a reason (yeah! ME!), and that she does her best to celebrate that with all of us. She also, basically, instructed me to be sure to do that should something happen to her. Easier said than done, I'm sure, but I will definitely put my heart into it.

Beth had a very hard time with Mother's Day today. We all gathered to release balloons up to the Heavens for Kolby today. She was crying when she arrived, and said she had been crying most of the morning. I held her and stroked her and loved her when she got to Mom's. I know how hard Kolby's passing has been on me....and I know it is multiplied a thousandfold for her. The balloons were Heaven sent....and, Kolby - and my baby, Beth, was honored.

Through it all, I can't imagine what people do who don't have some kind of faith that this is only a temporary place for our souls to reside. I am certain that Kolby, and our other loved ones, have gone on to the Heavenly realm where the diseases and man made issues that ravage our physical bodies don't exist. A place of love, and peace, and comfort. Much like a Mother's embrace.

Happy Mother's Day, Allison. Your own children are so blessed by you and your sharing spirit. Your Mom is smiling on you....

    1. Aw...thank you Aunt Kathy! You always amaze me with your beauty and grace. I can't imagine how hard it must have been for Beth and you as her mama. I know you comforted her as best a mama could. She has a truly wonderful support system! We released balloons for mom. It didn't really sit me until we released the balloons but with Chuck and the kids they eased my heart.

Hope you had a wonderful Mother's Day!
