The Simple Things | Mother's Day

Hope all of you blogger mama's had a wonderful Mother's Day!

My Mother's Day started off with homemade cards and breakfast made with love...

Next, we were off to the beach to make sand castles, dip our toes in the sand and a picnic by the ocean...

Payton and I worked diligently on not building a sand castle but a Walrus...

Isn't it the cutest Walrus you've ever seen?

After working hard on our Walrus we enjoyed a yummy lunch that daddy made for us. Homemade hoagies, Funyun's (my fave growing up and haven't had them in FOREVER!) and my moms favorite drink -- IBC Rootbeer...yum!

What a great day so far!

After a great day at the beach we did some shopping and then off to my dads and Sandy's for a Mother's Day dinner...

Dipping our toes in the pool, a Harley ride with my dad and some yummy Moscato with dinner. So blessed!

To finish up a wonderful day, Payton and I had an all inclusive tea party with a personal waiter, tea, homemade chocolate covered strawberries and cucumber sandwiches. A spot of tea anyone?

It was the simple things that made this day wonderful!
A mother's job is messy. A mother's job is stinky. A mother's job is hectic. A mother's job is NEVER done. A mother's job is more rewarding than any paycheck.
I am so blessed with two loving and caring children!

How was your Mother's Day? I'd love to hear all about it.

"Happy Easter..."

Hippity hoppity...the Easter Bunny is here!

Happy Easter! We had a beautiful, energy filled service at church this morning...

That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life.
John 3:15

Now off to bake a chocolate cake, homemade apple pie and sweet potato casserole for our Easter dinner with family this evening.

Hope you all have a blessed day!

"Christmas is here..."

Christmas Festivities
Sammy has been keeping a good eye on the kids since our last post. We have been quite busy with play dates, crafts, baking and lots of packing for our trip to Pennsylvania the day after Christmas.

Sammy has been dipping into the candy bowl.

Where's Sammy??

A little love note for Miss Payton

Hmm...

Sneaky Sammy painted Payton's nose like Rodolph the Red-Nose Reindeer. She slept through the whole thing....

Payton's Kindergarten Holiday party was so much fun! We made lots of crafts, ate yummy snacks and played with friends.

Payton and her teacher, Mrs. Jamison

And she lost her 3rd tooth at her Christmas Party!

In between Sammy's adventures, wrapping and packing we had two wonderful play dates with Korben (Payton's best friend) and his little sister Annabelle.

Sweet Annabelle tried so hard to keep up with the big kids but she always seemed to have a beautiful little smile on her face.

Let the baking begin...

My lovely assistant, Payton Ashlyn.

My other lovely assistant...

Check out all those baked goodies. We made two batches of Reindeer food, two dozen Candy Cane Blossoms, two dozen Chocolate Gooey Cookies and two dozen Strawberry Gooey Cookies. We had a blast listening to Christmas music and baking lots of goodies for our neighbors, friends and family.

Our homemade Snoopy snow globe.

Our glittery snow white pine cones.

May your Christmas and New Year be filled with love, laughter and joy with family and friends.

Happy Holidays from the Barrett Family!
