In Memory of my mom | Happy Mother's Day

Mother's Day is so hard because it has been almost 15 months and now two Mother's Days since I lost my beautiful mom. There are days it warms my heart to think of the good memories but my heart aches when the bad ones consume me but I hold my Faith close knowing that I am blessed with a beautiful Guardian Angel...

What is a Mother?

When needed, she was always there,
Someone I realized would always care.
And the older I got the more I knew,
A mother's love sincere and true.

A grandma who cherishes her grandbabies...

Always there to give a helping hand or being your biggest fan...

Make you SMILE...

To celebrate with...

So, on this Mother's Day cherish all Moms, for they gave us life. This beautiful life. Happy Mother's Day! Kisses.

Mother's love is peace. It need not be acquired, it need not be deserved. -Erich Fromm

"Happy Easter..."

Hippity hoppity...the Easter Bunny is here!

Happy Easter! We had a beautiful, energy filled service at church this morning...

That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life.
John 3:15

Now off to bake a chocolate cake, homemade apple pie and sweet potato casserole for our Easter dinner with family this evening.

Hope you all have a blessed day!

In Memory...

February 7th a year ago, changed my life forever. My heart is deeply sadden that it has been a year since I lost my mother. I miss her smile, her laugh and her love more with each passing day...

Some days I've asked myself, why? Why did God have to take her from us so soon? I know that the rule is that children are suppose to out live their parents but she was only 51. That was not nearly enough time for all of us but I know now, today, that she is in a far better place. God has an unseen purpose for taking her home and one day we will be reunited again.

When you lose a loved one it leaves an everlasting foot print on your heart. We take for granted those that we see day to day an sometimes without notice they can be striped from our lives forever. It really puts things into perspective for you.

No more holidays with that loved one...

 No more kisses...

 No more hugs...

No more birthdays...

Or family nights together...

Although it’s difficult today to see beyond the sorrow,
May looking back in memory help comfort you tomorrow.

I selfishly want her her with us to enjoy all those wonderful things but I know that her beautiful smile is shining down on us each and every day. So all those wonderful memories I shall cherish, and pass on to her grandbabies...

Fly free...

Here is the poem I read at my mothers memorial...
In Memory
It broke our hearts to lose you,
but you did not go alone.
A part of us went with you,
the day God took you home.
If tears could build a stairway,
and heartaches make a lane,
we'd walk our way to heaven,
and bring you back again.
In life we loved you dearly,
in death we love you still,
in our hearts you hold a place
no one could ever fill.

Have you hugged your friends and family and told them you loved them today? Please do...

This year has flown by....

On February 7th my mother, Libby Brantly passed away at the young age of 51. It has been a very long and difficult road for our little family. But we know that there is a Guardian Angel now watching over us. Through all the tears and grief we have had some smiles and sunshine. I'd like to share a few pictures of my mom and our family.

Here is our story...

She loved her grandbabies

Even her newest grandbaby, Savannah Grace

Always there for us...

With lots of kisses

There for every event, birthday, holiday, etc.

This summer the kiddos spent two weeks with their Aunt Ica in Mount Airy, NC. While they were there Payton lost her first tooth.

Dylan enjoyed two weeks with his dad in Virginia. They camped out, hiked trails and spent quality time together.

School is in! Payton started Kindergarten at Sheffield Elementary and Dylan started 7th grade at Oceanway Middle.
First day of school (and yes, that is Dylan laughing because I am taking a hundred pictures!)

Payton LOVES to practice writing, reading and math. Such a smart cookie!

On September 8th, Miss Payton turned 6 years old. She had a blast with her water slide and all her friends.
Happy Birthday, Payton!

This school year Dylan has been playing tackle football for the Oceanway Buccaneers. He is loving it! His positions are Outside Linebacker and Corner Back. We are so proud of him for having fun, learning and supporting his friends on the team!

Dylan and Coach Chuck aka Dad

On September 20th, Chuck and I celebrated our 9th wedding anniversary. We are so blessed to share this journey through life together. Chuck is an amazing husband, best friend and father to our two wonderful kiddos! Here's to many more...

Well, that is all for now! Many more things to come before the end of the year -- birthdays, Dylan's homecoming, Savannah's 1st birthday, Thanksgiving, Christmas and a family vacation to Pennsylvania.
