"Hippity Hoppity..."

Easter day was fun-filled for sure!

We enjoyed an amazing service by Pastor Stovall at our church, Celebration. After church we came home to bake up some goodies for Easter dinner.

Chuck made his first homemade Apple pie, crust and all.

Before...

After...

Does that picture not make your mouth water? Well, let's just say that it not only looked amazing but there was not ONE slice left -- it was that delicious! Sadly Dear Readers, this recipe is in his head so let me know if you want the recipe and then I can send it to you.

Next on the baking list, I made a cute little 'Peep Sunflower Chocolate Cake'. This picture does NOT do it justice since I was only able to capture a picture with my iPhone, and then I put it on Instagram (follow me at @Allykat13).

After baking pies and cakes, I made my Grandma Sidbury recipe for homemade Sweet Potato Casserole which is a huge hit during the holidays. Sadly I don't have a picture of the beautiful crunchy topping and sweet potato layers. But don't fret Dear Readers, I will share the recipe with you below...

Sweet Potato Crunch

6 cups of cooked sweet potatoes
1 1/4 cup of sugar
1 tsp. salt
4 eggs, beaten
1/2 stick of oleo (butter), melted
1 cup of condensed milk
1 tsp. of Vanilla Extract

Mash the potatoes, and the combine all ingredients. Place in a 13 x 9 baking dish.

Topping:

1 1/2 cups of brown sugar
1/2 cup flour
1 1/2 cups of Special K cereal, crushed
1/2 cup of oleo (butter), melted

Combine all the topping ingredients. Pour over sweet potato mixture. Bake at 350 degrees for 35 minutes. Enjoy!

After hours of baking we were off to my dads for Easter dinner with the family. Shortly after arriving we had a visitor stop by...

The kids were in awe over this big, fluffy Easter bunny that walked through the door. But the little ones were not quite sure about this 'Easter Bunny thing'. Ha!

But finally warmed up to the Easter Bunny with smiles and hugs...

Even the adults gave the Easter Bunny hugs...

What a fun visit from the Easter Bunny! Next finishing up getting ready for Easter dinner. Oh boy, was it a feast!

ʻOhana means family...

Easter egg hunt time! First off the little ones.

The 'Golden Egg'...

Next up were the bigger kids egg hunt...

Their Easter findings...

We had such a great time with family and friends but truly missed those who were not there with us.

Hope you all had a Happy Easter filled with fun, food, family and many blessings...
